THE FACE BEHIND

JENNIFER VICTORIA BEAUTY

IT ALL STARTED WITH A HOW-TO BRAIDING BOOK..

HI THERE!..

My name is Jennifer (you can call me Jen!)- I truly have been passionate about hair for as long as I can remember. I recall sitting in Barnes and Noble when I was 6 trying to copy pictures of french braid tutorials in my notebook. Thankfully my parents later purchased the book for me and I have it to this day! I was always experimenting with hair and makeup throughout my childhood. The night before picture day when I was 10 I used a highlighting kit on my hair and turned it orange. I cut my own bangs and hair and played with my mom's makeup often. (Both of which I got in a lot of trouble for!) I would experiment with hair and makeup techniques on friends, and high school mornings were usually spent at my girlfriends' houses curling and styling their hair.

I was told at a young age that "doing hair" wasn't an ideal career so I never pursued it. After graduating from college with my Bachelor's in Psychology I was very unsure of where I was headed. I worked in a restaurant as a server for 9 years, and this really instilled my work ethic. I quickly realized how I was in control of my success and the money I would make was based on how hard and efficiently I worked. I loved working with people but I was always drawn to the beauty industry. I decided to attend cosmetology school in 2014 and after working in a salon I started doing more in the bridal industry and ended up specializing in bridal and event styling in 2016.

To date, I have styled 300+ weddings. I love everything bridal and I continue to take classes, watch tutorials, and improve my bridal hair skillset and better my techniques. I pride myself on making all ladies who sit in my chair happy and confident in the wedding day hairstyle they choose. I thrive in a fast-paced environment and understand that every bride is unique. I feel blessed to be pursuing my dream career and I believe that everyone should be working in a field that they love. To quote my favorite professor in college, "Do what you love and the money will follow". I also have two children- aged 4 and 3, so I am incredibly lucky to be a "stay at home parent" during the week, and work with my bridal clients on the weekends.

XO,
Jennifer Victoria Boydston
